When my PS3 developed the red light of death and yellow light of death on separate occasions, I called their hotline. After being kept on hold for over 30 minutes, a sony technician just said "please send it over to our nearest center". Well, I figured they built it and they could fix it. How wrong I was!

In spite of my doubts, I sent the console in with the hope that at least someone would be able to help fix the problem; after paying the $150 "consultation" -or was it diagnosing?- fee.

Well, after they "fixed" the red light of death and waiting for a long 6-8 weeks, I finally received my reformatted PS3. "Well, no sweat" I thought. "At least I got my PS3 back". Well, my reprieve didn't last very long. After using the console for another 3 months, I had the yellow light of death right in the middle of a Call of Duty Black Ops game. Since I couldn't afford to fork over another $150 for a freaking problem caused by sony in the first place, I decided to seek alternative means of repairs.

During my search, I found that the bloody thing can be repaired if you knew what to do. Better still, within an hour or so even if you have no prior experience.
